Known Problems with Stock Transfers
There are no known problems at this time.

Choosing Materials to Print On
Transfers sold by Pro World can be applied to a variety of products including t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, mugs, mouse pads, and puzzles. To determine which material you can print on, please take note of the 'Application' code found below each transfer. This code indicates the color and/or type of product to which the transfer can be applied.

As a general rule of thumb, virtually all transfers can be applied to t-shirts, sweatshirt, or other similar types of garments. The exception to this is transfers specifically made for printing on polyester caps and/or mugs. These type of transfers are noted as a 'sublimation' under the Application section located below the transfer.

Solving Problems with Stock Transfers
Please Note: All garments should be pre-pressed for at least 5 to 7 seconds before printing.

Problem Reason Solution
Puff is flat. Too much time printing. Check printing time and reduce.
Transfer ink going through the back of the garment. Too much pressure on your heat press. Check heat press pressure and reduce. Or, place teflon sheet inside shirt.
Opaque transfers not opaque on 50/50 garments. Temperature is too high or pressing time is too long. Reduce temperature and/or reduce application time.
Transfer does not adhere to garment. 1. Not enough time pressing. 1. Increase pressing time.
2. Not enough pressure. 2. Increase pressure if needed.
3. Temperature is too low. 3. Increase temperature
4. Cold spots on heating platen. 4. Check temperature by using temperature dots
5. Warped or dirty heating platen. 5. Check with a steel ruler or level. Clean platen with non-abrasive cleaner.
6. Defective bottom pad. 6. Replace pad.
7. May be using a teflon pad 7. Remove pad
Puff tears off garment. Shirt wrinkling or popcorn effect. Application time too long. Check time and reduce.
Opaque transfers not opaque on 100% cotton garments. Too much pressure or too much time Check pressure and pressing time and make necessary adjustments.

Solving Problems with Specialty Transfer Papers
Problem: Ink Bleeds on my garment after printing with a ink/bubble jet transfer
Solution:
1. If bleeding occurs, the printer is producing too much ink. The t-shirt cannot absorb all the ink, which causes it to bleed
2.
3.
4.
Turn the shirt inside out and wash it in cold water.
If there is still bleeding repeat this process up to 2 more times.
If you still have ink bleeding wash the shirt again but add 1/3 cup of bleach.

Solving Problems with Mug Transfers
Problem: The ink is scraping off my mug
Solution: The mug needs to be put in the glazing unit. This process sets the ink into the mug.

Problem: There are bubbles or wrinkles in the design
Solution: You need to use the scraper which is provided with your machine. Squeegee out any air trapped under the transfer. This is step 9 in your mug application instructions.

Troubleshooting Your Mug Press
Problem: My sublimation transfer is not adhering to my mug.
Solution: You may be using the wrong type of mug. There is only one type of mug that may be used. It is the coated ceramic mug, which is lead free and approved by the FDA. The mug must be specifically made for sublimation transfers.

Problem: The tension is too loose or too tight
Solution: You need to adjust your tension using the following method:
1. Unplug your machine from the power source.
2. Remove case by loosening 6 Allen screws on the bottom of the case.
3. Gently lift case (with the handle in the open position) off and lay it on its backside to the rear of the machine, being careful not to damage the wiring harness.
4. Locate the adjustment stud and loosen locknuts using a 9/16" open-end wrench.
5. Turn the adjustment stud using a 5/16" wrench on flats in the center. Turning in the direction of the arrow increases the pressure. Adjustments should be made by turning the stud 1/4" turn at a time, locking and checking pressure by inserting a mug in the press and closing the handle. If more pressure is needed, repeat the adjustment process until sufficient pressure is attained. Over tightening may cause damage to the stud or heater.
6. Replace case, tighten screw and test machine.

Troubleshooting Your Heat Press
Problem: My timer batteries fell out during shipping or they need to be replaced
Solution: On the back of the machine you will find a panel. Remove the panel and you will be able to see the batteries. The machine will beep when it needs new batteries.

Problem: My transfers keep sticking in the same spot.
Solution: Most likely you have a cold spot. If you are using a Stahls' machine or Pro World machine your heating elements are covered by a lifetime warranty and can by replaced. However, keep in mind it is very rare for heating elements to malfunction on a Stahls' machine.
